US College Profiles

Louisiana State University (LSU) is one of the most well-known universities in the United States. Located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, LSU has a long and storied history that dates back to its founding in 1853. The university is home to over 30,000 students and offers more than 200 academic programs across 10 colleges and schools.

Anotable alumni from LSU is Upper 90 College client Caitie Cantrill. Caitie played four years for the women's soccer team at LSU and was part of an emerging power in women's college soccer during her time at the school. She served as team captain in her Senior season, scored her first career goal as a Freshman against Indiana and honored  for her academic performance with a selection to the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll, and earned two varsity letters during her time with the Tigers. 

Other notable alumni include actors Brad Pitt and Ellen DeGeneres, as well as professional athletes such as Shaquille O'Neal and Odell Beckham Jr.

LSU has some of the best athletic facilities in the country. The school boasts a state-of-the-art football stadium with seating for over 102,000 fans, as well as a basketball arena with seating for over 12,000 people. The school also has several outdoor sports fields for baseball, softball, tennis, track & field and soccer. Football is by far the most popular sport at LSU; however, other sports such as basketball and baseball are also popular among students and fans alike.

The university also offers a wide range of academic programs that are highly regarded both nationally and internationally. These include business administration, engineering, law, medicine and veterinary medicine programs that have been ranked among the top 10 in their respective fields by U.S News & World Report.
